Exclusive Submissions

The Northwestern University Law Review accepts articles on an exclusive basis twice each year, in January and July. All articles submitted via our exclusive submission track are considered by a member of the Articles Board, and publication decisions are made prior to or at the opening of the Spring and Fall cycles. In exchange for this prioritized and timely consideration, participating authors agree to withhold the article submitted through our exclusive submission track from submission to any other publication until receiving a decision back from us. By submitting an article via the exclusive submission track, the author agrees to accept a binding publication offer, should one be extended.

Summer Exclusive Submission Track: July 2019 - Opening July 1, 2019

The Northwestern University Law Review Summer Exclusive Submission Cycle will open on July 1, 2019 and run until July 15, 2019. For all articles that have been submitted by July 15, in accordance with the instructions outlined below, the Law Review guarantees consideration by an Articles Board editor. All final publication decisions will be communicated to authors by August 1, 2019.

Participating authors agree to withhold the article submitted through our exclusive submission track from submission to any other publication until receiving a decision from the Northwestern University Law Review. Participating authors further agree to accept a binding publication offer, should one be extended.

Articles receiving a publication offer via this exclusive submission track will be published in Volume 114 in the spring of 2020. Though publication timelines can often be negotiated, participating authors agree to accept the publication timeline the Law Review offers.

If you are interested in submitting your Article, please email the manuscript as a Word document to our Senior Articles Editor, Elena Joffroy at elenajoffroy2020@nlaw.northwestern.edu during the submission window.
